Original note from Nigel Herbig,

Familiar with The King Conservation District? It is a special service district that controls millions of conservation dollars . And it is holding an unusual election next week. Unusual because there will NOT be any absentee ballots and NO usual polling locations. BUT IT IS CRITICAL THAT CONSERVATION MINDED VOTERS FIND A POLLING LOCATION (listed below) AND VOTE on February 13, 2007.

Polling stations will be staffed at the seven locations listed below. All King County registered voters are eligible to vote in this election.
Polling locations are open from 11:00 am to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 13, 2007

King Conservation District board positions are unpaid. Board members are responsible for over-seeing District operations, staff, financial administration, and for guiding the direction of District programs and policies. The King Conservation District total annual revenue is approximately $5.87 million dollars, of which with approximately $1.8 million of this is used to fund district operations and up to 16 full time staff.
Please forward this on to your friends , or any lists you have access too - last year's election only had 834 voters - just a handful of votes could make a huge difference!
