and ask the guy to give you a bid. One hundred dollars a square is not unreasonayle. A square is 100 square feet. If your roof if 1800 square feet figure $1800 plus material. Dormers, hips and valleys may add to the cost. The advantage to this method is that you know the guy actually has a crew, and you know that he is actually willing to show up and work. Never pay in advance. Cost of materials up front (that varies from $35 to $200 per square, depending on the material). You can get the price of materials by visiting Dunn's or Home Depot. Good luck
