Sorry I can't resist. We bitch in the "winter" when gets down to 35, then gripe in the "summer" when it hits 85. I put winter and summer in quotes because I grew up in upstate New York. They have real seasons up there. In the summer it would do this every day, and about three times a week a thunderstorm would blow up and clear the air. I didn't care, I lived in the lake on days like that.

| 13. I have a very small window of acceptable temperatures. |
|
I like it between 50 and 80. My ideal is 70-75, really. Obviously I should live in San Diego. :D

| 4. it was NOT "hot" tuesday. it was warm. |
|
today, IF it hits 95, you can say its hot.
and even then, there's no humidity, so anywhere in the shade is nice.
people in western washington are as big of pansies as my dog.

I lived my first 30 years in NY, NJ and PA and never was bothered by the heat. After 20 odd years out here anything above 80 just makes me feel dreadful. I don't know if it's age or that I've adjusted to the climate out here or if it is in fact that I am now a big Wuss...
I still thinks it stinks!

| 6. We're going to swim in the lake today. |
|
Our house is full of skylights so it's like a terrarium in here.
We bought a swamp cooler to take the edge off the main floor this summer BUT IT'S EXTREMELY LOUD AND WE HAVE TO TALK LIKE THIS SO WE CAN HEAR EACH OTHER, which isn't all that fun. :hi:

Those sky lights are killers in weather like this. I just closed off the bathroom and bedroom that have skylights and won't venture in there until it cools off. I have a sun room that is currently 110 and that's with all the doors open in there.
I broke down and bought an air conditioner last year so we're confined to one room for the duration. At least I have a place to go for some relief so I feel fortunate.

|
And then the bus was crowded and hot.
I didn't arrive as fresh as a daisy. Ew.
At least I'm home now. I'm going to take a cool shower. :hi:

and it's 92 degrees where I am. If I still lived in Austin, that would be no problem because I had air conditioning. We have a fan blowing air up from the basement though and that really helps.
I'm breaking my rule about not drinking liquids while reading DU. So far, no spew. Please, no one say anything witty!
