I want to thank our Washington Congressional Democrats

and congratulate them on their refusal to let themselves be intimidated into voting for the administrations latest end run around the Constitution. Senators Cantwell and Murray, and Congressmen Dicks, Larsen, Inslee, McDermott, Smith and Baird stood their ground and voted against giving the Bush administration carte blanche for warrantless wiretapping. Forty House Democrat and 16 Democratic senators caved, but all our Democrats stood fast. They did the right thing and I'm proud of them.
