| Seattle Center 1/1 fireworks a dud |
|
As midnight struck, all eyes turned to the Space Needle, to witness...nothing!
The supposedly-outstanding fireworks were nowhere to be seen. After a few minutes of TV cameras showing a dark and silent Needle, finally some fireworks went off, but in apparently random order, as opposed to the promised 8 1/2 minute show synced to "Hollywood Classics."
It was finally explained that the computer running the show locked up just as it was about to start. They rebooted the system, but it was only enough to shoot a few more off, then locked up again, so the rest of the fireworks had to be set off by hand.
MY COMMENT: Let me guess...this year, it was a computer running Windows Vista. Right?
