| Mental Health Care for the Uninsured in Seattle? |
|
Hey, Washington DUers!
I'm writing from Pennsylvania. One of my friends lives in Seattle. Last night, she came home to discover her boyfriend had hung himself. I can't imagine the pain she is in and I'm certain that, very soon, she will need some serious counseling. Though she has two jobs, she doesn't have insurance.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a place that administers to the uninsured? Not necessarily a free clinic, but a place with a sliding scale. Also, any general referrals would be appreciated. Do any of you know of or have had experience with a doctor that provides care for post-traumatic stress disorder or just general trauma? Or even just a really great counselor, clinic or psychologist? Thanks so much!

| 1. Have her contact the Crisis Clinic |
|
They have referral lists and can provide referrals to low cost providers.

| 2. Thanks. I've been doing some googling and feeling pretty overwhelmed about getting her to a |
|
counselor when I am states away! I'll give her the number.

I'm so sorry about your friend. I hope the Crisis Clinic is able to help her out.
