Next week we'll be launching a new, online tool that will allow folks to take a crack at balancing the budget themselves. In light of our $8 billion deficit, ensuring that as many Washingtonians as possible understand what's at stake is more important than ever. And that's where you come in.
Before we launch this tool publicly, we need committed people to test it and make sure it all makes sense and that it's working correctly.
Can you help test our new tool on Friday? We will take the first 200 people and give them this exclusive preview. Click here to sign up:
http://www.fusewashington.org/page/s/BudgettesterWe'll send you the link to the budget tool on Friday and it should only take you about 15 minutes to test. And you'll be the first to try your hand at balancing the budget! The most important part will be filling out a quick survey afterwards to give us feedback and let us know how it went.
As state lawmakers wrestle over what to do, we wanted to give Washington residents the opportunity to weigh the same options they are considering: How many dollars do I have to cut? Which programs do I cut them from? What's more important for Washington's future - education for kids or health care for low-income families? Should I restore funding to foster care services? What's the right balance?
The budget process isn't as mysterious as it seems, but it's full of tough questions and hard decisions. This tool will help thousands of people understand and engage in the budget process - but we need to make sure it works first!
Please sign up to help us test this new tool on Friday, so we can launch it publicly next week. Be one of the first 200 people to get an exclusive preview of our tool.
