John St on Capitol Hill. Wait for the bus (on the video). Seriously, you will be glad you did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhZCyQ3emQg

I know what you mean. We have had a lot of drifting already with the last two snow falls, winds are still blowing, and temps are only at 12 to 14 degrees today, and they say it will get down to -10 tonight! The only good thing is we missed most of the heavy snow, the bad thing is I had to plow drifts today that ranged from 8 inches to almost 2 feet, damned wind will get you every time! If it hadn't been for the wind I wouldn't even have had to plow today!

2. It's cold and icy out. By "wait for the bus" I meant on the video as well as real life.

The bus on the vid managed to stop at a bus stop, but....not exactly the right way.
I'm on a hill with not very good tires, am hanging at home. You must be eastern if subzero, or do you mean windchill?

I lived in Everett back in the late 70's and had a hill like that to get down to go to work everyday. I went down one morning and like those on the video I went right through the top sign, black ice! Had to turn around and go home and put my snow tires on, and find a different way to get to work that day!
I live in North Central Washington, and the windchill has been in the minus's all day, but the real time temp tonight is supposed to be around -10! I have a fire going in the fireplace and we will be staying home, and keeping warm tonight! I have a four wheel drive pickup I plow with, and tow other vehicles with good tires, but sometimes no matter how good the tires are, or if you have four wheel drive, you just need to stay off the streets! Good video by the way! I would hate to drive a bus this time of the year in Seattle!

4. Stop signs turn into "suggestions" instead of commands when it's icy with hills.

5. I've taken that bus many times

Glad I wasn't on it then.
There's been a car stuck sideways halfway up the short, steep hill I live on since Monday. At least it's been keeping others from attempting the hill. In 2008, many did and only made it halfway up before sliding back to the bottom.
I hope John St has been aggressively treated by now since that's a major street for Group Health.
