Jamieson: 'Trash' fire turns out to be a man

If the old bluesmen had to come up with a title for his life's song, they might call it the "Ballad of One-Legged Doug."

You probably don't know 50-year-old Douglas R. Dawson by name. I didn't.

You might have heard about him as a result of cruel circumstance -- the man who police say was set on fire.

Earlier this week, Dawson called Room 902 at Harborview Medical Center home. He was being treated for first-, second- and third-degree burns.

Before that, Dawson was homeless, an urban fixture known to many throughout Spokane, the one-legged guy in the wheelchair. He had lost his leg in Vietnam. That was the word on the street.

1. More than word on streets

I saw Jameison,s article this morning and read the report ,when it happened on Kerm news web page the day it happened.

Todays article by Jameison is an example of his good writing.
He brings in a different twist to the picture ,more in line with hard facts. Though in good story form.

Seattle/Bellevue has had it,s own episodes with this parituclar kind of street activity in fact as you may have read a Seattle punk bastard was one of the perfs.

This kind of punk bastard crime is on the rise, and that word out on the street is just this, those are coward punk bastards . Never in one place long enough to have the needed come to Jesus meeting. That,s the street talk, a community of people that see what most do not see. The type of people a Seattle cop might ask ,if they have seen anything., or a good reliable opinion.
