KIRO Seattle RNC newspot this morning...

So KIRO in Seattle reports that authorities are gearing up for violent protests at the RNC, citing unnamed websites that link to others which advocate bringing molotov cocktails to protest events. The 'balanced' part stated that authorities expect most demostrators to be 'law abiding.'

What the hell? Molotov cocktails? I've never seen anything of the sort at any protest or strike I've ever attended. Geezus.

Don't put anything past the Rethugs. They'll do it under the guise of an anarchist group. They're desperate.

2. local news here is awful. i only watch it for crime trends

all of them battle for the deepest part of the well. i flamed dan lewis the other week for some over-blown hyperbole, invited him to have a bare-knuckle fist-fight with ken schram for the editorial spot and invited komo to quit calling their show the 'news'

i think what's happened to some degree locally and i could totally be talking out my backside here, at least one young guy got spotted and went low-level national, from WTO. and some of the left-behinds still have that dream...

3. The only thing we may have to watch out for a few groups....

1. Anarchists and rabble rousers on the far fringes. You saw them at WTO in seattle in 1999.

2. Covert feds and Karl Rove-inspired operatives sent in to disrupt peaceful demonstrations.

3. People who take advantage of a violent situation by looting stores. Basically bored young people who are not political and have nothing better to do with their time.


Those are the groups you must watch out for.
