2. I've got a friend who's a cop out in the North Praire area

Obviously a really conservative area. She says gun sales are way, way up because the wing nuts are afraid they'll lose the right to buy them.

3. Ha! I joked about this with my dad the other night

I called him about something else entirely but when he answered the phone, I told him I was just calling to see if he had all his guns hidden away yet. He said "No, why?" I said because Obama's gonna come and take all yer guns away. Haven't you been getting all that mail and those calls warning you?

Then he laughed. Said he hangs up on the robo calls before they get a word in. They don't have caller ID so they don't leave it for the answering machine like me.

Anyway, I don't think my dad is falling for that BS this year. But it took some time to convince him.

One of our canvassers told a gun nut that "they've" been trying to scare us with that for a dozen years and has it happened yet? They said the same thing about Jim Doyle when he ran for Gov. Did he take your guns away? No. Got the gun nut to start think about the realities on the ground at least.

People are much more likely to lose their guns under the republicans because they will be much more likely to have to hock them to buy food or compensate for the loss in their "retirement" account.
