in the early count for the Dane County Executive race... if Falk loses to a Republican I'm going to be really pissed.

I know she isn't popular around the state, but I'd hate to have a Republican County executive.

Glad she won and hopefully she'll straighten out the mess there as well as continue her progressive ideals.

who was a decent candidate there would have been something to worry about. But even the Democrats who are frustrated with Falk aren't frustrated enough to vote for a right wing Repuke.
Edit: She had no primary opponent- nobody would have the money or the nerve to run against Falk when she so obviously has the Governor's backing.

So no Dem primary, but I think you make a good point about Falk having the advantage of being the only liberal in this particular election.

Van Hollen wins whoever emerged from the Dem primary. Peg screwed herself over royally.

Dem voters were not going to vote for Van Hollen and the rural swing voters (you know, those people who live north of Portage) loved how Peg handled the Vang case. She got great press up here for months on end just before the primary.
If you went back to look at the primary results, you'd see Peg got a lot of support outside Madison and Milwaukee. In a partisan race, there aren't enough Dem voters in Madison and Milwaukee to carry a statewide race alone. The attitudes in the rest of the state can turn an election. Falk has a reputation as a gun-stealing, commie Madison Liberal. Peg didn't - especially after the Vang trial.

| 7. Wow. Everyone for whom I voted won. |

Right down to the 3 I picked for school board. Wow. The only other time that has happened to me is Nov 2008.
Our progressive alder beat his challenger which is what makes me most happy. Wish I was happy about Falk. I really wish I thought she deserved this win. But when I saw how awful Mistele was...well, I voted for Falk and encouraged my friends to do the same. Sigh...

|
Abrahamson signs everywhere. Lots of Anderson closer to Washburn. Linehan had lots of signs, but like McCain's campaign, 3 to 4 in a yard. What was really weird was his message in the local paper about everyone not speaking English if we don't support our vets...then on the Rez, he had signs with eagle feathers painted on them, ostensibly to show he, uh supports native Americans? I dunno. Anyway, he lost.
