Scott Walker was in Green Bay today in what was billed as a small business summit with the imaginary theme of job creation. The state’s unemployment rate is hovering around 8% and is trending ever upward based on the rise from numbers released last month. Walker’s promise to Wisconsinites to create 250,000 jobs by giving huge concessions to the insatiable corporate “job creators” has become a cruel joke. According to statistics released by the state Department of Workforce Development the state’s employment rate has decreased for third straight month. (Tell that to the unemployed)
Those who could afford to pay $50 each to attend today’s summit were treated to the pristine environment of the legendary Lambeau field. Out in the cold, like many unemployed Wisconsinites, were those holding signs and chanting "Where are the jobs?". This group of citizens gathered in hopes of speaking to the governor and letting him know their everyday struggles to hear what Walker was going to do about helping them.
