| 3. That's what I plan on doing. |

I don't know why placing a sign in your window would be illegal.

| 4. It could be a municipal ordinance in some place like... |
|
Delavan, or Mequon, or darker corners of Die Tausendjähriges Reich / HonkeyShaw, like New Berlin.

particularly in bigger cities. I live in a small town...doubt if there's any ordinances, but I'll check first.

Surely you've noticed those oversized neocon signs at Barker and Greenfield? :)
I don't a Recall Walker sign would be a problem in that town.

| 9. My Bad. There are some TERRIFIC folks in the west 'burbs, I know. |
|
I haven't been to New Berlin since The Chimp was in the Oval Office.
But previous, uh, **could-have-been-better** personal associations were reinforced when the N'zi's came to West Allis that rainy Saturday, last summer.
Some very familiar looking faces in amongst that crowd, and they didn't blend in very well at all. They all looked like they had just swallowed something excruciatingly unpleasant. (The concept of Tolerance?) Earlier that week, in an interview with The Shepherd, one of the N'zi leaders had given an unintentionally unflattering portrait of the racial and ethnic profile one of the West 'Burbs, citing it as a reason to live there.
But painting with too broad a brush is equally bad, even when you're trying to disassociate from all that.
Sorry.

| 8. Even then, they can only limit the size of the sign, not whether or not you have one |

I've never heard of a municipal ordinance banning signs in windows.
Yard signs/window signs are always legal since the supreme court ruled it a form of free speech - unless you've signed away that right in some kind of property covenant or stipulation in your lease.
The only regulations municipalities can put on yard signs is size. And most yard signs are well below that requirement. If you're in doubt, call your municipal clerk. They would tell you if there are any regulations on signs you need to worry about.
