|
http://www.thestar.com/news/article/997508--brampton-man-sues-government-alleging-csis-harassed-him?bn=1A Brampton man is suing the Canadian government alleging Canada’s spy agency launched a smear campaign against him, painting him as a terrorist and pedophile because he refused to be an informant. The recently filed lawsuit comes after child pornography charges against Ayad Mejid, 48, were dropped when a Superior Court judge ruled his Charter rights were violated by agents with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service....

| 1. Some information that should concern Canadians... |

I read about this story a few months ago. At the time, the man willingly and voluntarily gave his laptop to CSIS. After they had possession they claimed they found a bunch of these photos of children or whatever it was. The man claimed that it was absolutely untrue, he had never downloaded such pictures, he was religious etc. The judge threw it out based on his rights being denied, the insinuation is that CSIS planted the photos on his hard drive in an attempted character assassination.
Ask yourself this. If CSIS would be so immoral and brash as to frame someone simply because he would not assist them, what else do they do in the name of "National Security?" Many of which, they manufacture and engineer themselves.
I am as supportive as the average Canadian when it comes to policing in this country. Knowing what I know from personal experience, I have absolutely no faith or trust in these organizations (CSIS and the RCMP). If anyone does some real hard research, one will find that some of our closest allies do not have any faith in the intelligence provided by these organizations either. It isn't publicly stated, but the bits and pieces can be found with some effort. They are rapidly eroding our International reputation in the name of petty pride, their God complex and complete focus on increasing their budgets. From Montebello, Quebec to harassment accusations being levelled against CSIS in a major Phoenix, AZ newspaper, this Stasi methodology plays itself out day in and day out. With very little benefit to Canadians.
In what other democratic nation would these types of activities be acceptable?
If they have harassed and destroyed this man, they should pay a heavy fee. I recommend it coming directly out of their paycheques, not out of the bottomless taxpayers fund.
