| 1. Yeah, I know exactly what you mean |

It's so wierd now to imagine a world without the memory of 9/11 that it seems like it's been there forever. But on the other hand, you'll see an image or hear a story and it triggers the exact same emotions of shock and horror that you felt that day, and it seems like no time has passed at all.
I don't know of anyone who doesn't occasionally shed a tear or two, those times when it hits them again like it did that day. What makes the whole event even more tragic is the way it has been used to bring suffering and death to other peoples instead of peace and stability, the way it has been used to cover up the stink of corruption in our leaders, the way it has been used to justify the deaths of over 1,000 soldiers and 12,000 civilians in Iraq.
It just fills my heart with tears to think about the solidarity the world had towards the U.S. after that day, and how the arrogance and ignorance of the B*sh Administratin squandered it all away. I can still remember the power of the love that the world showed us, and now it has all evaporated, and why? Because Bush and his Neocon Cabal had their agenda to shove down our throats.
Sorry for the rant, I just had to get that off my chest.

| 2. What makes me cry, always, is the memory of the people who helped. |

And the people who cared about our pain.
There were internet sites of photos of memorials all over the world. And it mattered.
When the Queen had our anthem played at the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, it mattered.
Bush squandered that outpouring of love and grief. But don't think, do not ever think it has been forgotten.

I just took our big brash noisy neighbour to the south for granted.I was suprised by the depth and breadth of my affection for America. I remember I choked up whenever I heard God Bless America or Starspangled Banner.
