Passer-by 'racially abused' BNP leader Nick Griffin

"British National Party leader Nick Griffin was racially abused by a man who made threatening "gun gestures" towards him, a court heard today.

The North West MEP was giving evidence in the trial of 23-year-old Tauriq Khalid, from Burnley, who is accused of shouting "white bastards" towards Griffin and other BNP members who were demonstrating in the Lancashire town.

As the far right leader gave media interviews outside Burnley police station last November, Khalid drove past and made the comment, returning shortly afterwards to make the gun gesture, Preston Crown Court was told."

5. As here, I would support the law dealing with it; but I would still find some irony in the hypocrisy

of someone dishing it out, and then going to the police when it's done to them by one of the groups that they've been doing it to themselves. (E.g. a Jew in the case of Farrakhan.)

Clearly, I don't support racial abuse whoever does it; but it does strike me that the very people who oppose hate-speech laws as an infringement on their ever-so-precious freedom of speech are often the first to invoke them when THEY are the ones being abused.

2. Let's be clear, Griffin is a nasty little scrumbag, but

it's just as bad to call someone a "white bastard" (even if they happen to be one) as it is to call someone a "black", "yellow", "brown", "Muslim" or "Gay" bastard.

Discrimination and equality laws must be applied to everyone equally otherwise there will be inevitable consequences (like extra votes for the BNP)

as well as being a fascist bastard, Griffin is also a lying bastard. The accused was acquitted by the jury in just 45 minutes and Griffin admitted he didn't hear any death threat.
