| So, when do we reckon Gordon will resign then? |
|
Today?
Tomorrow?
Next week sometime?
Personally I suspect he will have to be dragged out screaming and kicking by men in white coats.
"I SAVED THE WORLD!!!" he will cry.

For one thing, it looks like a Lab/Lib/Nationalist government isn't totally out of the picture yet, although it's receding fast.

| 4. As P.M. or as party leader? |
|
The former, if and when an agreement is reached between the LibDems and the Tories. He has behaved perfectly in constitutional terms, and the numpties saying he should have resigned are simply engaging in Daily Wail-level political 'commentary'.
As party leader, soon after the above if it looks like a stable coallition has been formed.

As it stands he is not in a position to be able to resign as Prime Minister, there is no one there to replace him. If he resigned it would mean that the Queen would have to choose a PM and that is not going to happen.
If there was going to be a Lib Dem deal with Brown, that met the demand Brown must go, he would still be in that position. He would resign as Labour Leader, not as PM. An accelerated Leadership process would take place inside of the Labour Party, that yet again may not give the Party a choice of who leads the Party. Once the Leader is chosen Brown would be in a position to resin as PM.

| 6. Actually he has agreed to do so! |

And I'm not that surprised - being dragged out screaming 'I SAVED THE WORLD' sounds more like Blair.
