E.g. see anything about the 'Institute for Social Justice' (a misleading name if ever there was one'); or this article by the revolting Tim Montgomerie - who along with Duncan-Smith was one of the founders of said Institute, and who runs the revolting Conservative Home blog:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/5008047/A-strong-family-and-small-state-ought-to-go-hand-in-hand.htmlAt least Thatcher was honest about considering that there is 'no such thing as society' and treating poor and 'weak' people simply as acceptable collateral damage in the cause of Making Britain Great, and Achieving Economic Success (at least for the rich). Some of this lot seem to think that taking the safety-nets away from the poor is Good For Them. Which is in many ways even more sickening.
By the way, I thought 'Gideon' was just a name that you'd come up with; but I looked him up and found that he really was called that till he decided to change it to George. Interesting little fact...
