And by the same token, I suppose it might prevent benefit fraud to raise the minimum wage to 1 million dollars a year! But I don't suppose Murdoch will be suggesting that.
And though it's true that frank corruption is rare in Singapore, their government and political system are excessively authoritarian; they are pretty much on the borderland between being and not being a democracy; and they have been rated as 136th in the international index of press freedom - thus an unlikely society for a journalist to use as a model, one would have thought.
