| Cameron has broken 'cast-iron' pledge to protect the NHS, official figures show |
|
David Cameron's cast-iron pledge to insulate the NHS from cuts has been broken, official figures revealed for the first time yesterday.
The statistics – showing that spending fell in real terms during the coalition government's first year – will fuel controversy over whether the Prime Minister has been honest with the public about the NHS.
Labour accused Mr Cameron of "betrayal" for claiming to protect the NHS while overseeing a fall in health spending.http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/cameron-has-broken-castiron-pledge-to-protect-the-nhs-official-figures-show-2377780.html Wow. What a surprise!

| 1. Yes; it's become fairly obvious. |

I remember in the last election, our Tory candidate, now unfortunately our MP, sent out lots of leaflets all about how the NHS was her top priority and only the Tories could prevent cuts in it. Humph! Reminds me of the 80s, and 'The NHS is safe in our hands'. I used to have a T-shirt with the words on it, 'WARNING: HM GOVERNMENT CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH SERVICE.' It can. Especially when it's Tory.
