| What are the latest tourist scams in France? |

My daughter is going there in a couple days. What should she watch out for in the way of rip-offs and robberies?

Not that they are in collusion but they take advantage of the crowd and distraction.

I've been here for 3 days.. pick pockets are always a worry as was posted already. I would say to fully research the money exchange... they will gouge her with fees over and above the exchange rate. Travelers checks are not accepted everywhere. Using an ATM with your American bank card can be the best way to go... the fees are about 2% or so depending on your bank... it's worth looking into. Some of the money changing kiosks charge almost 10%! The weather in Paris is gorgeous... about 80 during the day and dipping into the high 50's at night. Where will she be in France?
