German Conservative cabinet picks include two who resigned over scandals

The designated minister of the interior, Wolfgang Schäuble, is about to take control of the federal police force. Does anybody remember that he had to resign over accepting a 100.000DM bribe/donation?

Josef Jung, designated Minister of Defense, had to resign from his post as director of the Hessian chancellery because he allowed money from unclear sources into the treasury of the conservative party, without informing the authorities. The defense ministry is among the offices with the biggest danger of corruption. Is a man known to place his party's fortune above the law the right pick for such a position?

Conservative values indeed. :grr:
