1. They can't blame Clinton now.
2. They are stuck with the results their own mess in Iraq.
3 They can't sit back and snipe at what a bad job President Kerry is doing cleaning it up.
2. They have to deliver to everyone they were on the take to and some are going to conflict with others.
3. The fall of the dollar is going to bankrupt some fat cats.
any more?

But they had no reason to blame anyone else previously and that didn't stop them.
They will ALWAYS find someone else to blame.

And we are almost helpless to respond because our leaders are always vying for Mr/Ms Decency and won't fight back. We had to push the party through Howard Dean before the leadership could summon the spine and nerve to stand up to the chimp. Now we know that they did it with trepidation. Oh - how I pine for a leader with cajones to stand up to the reThugs!

Someone DID have the guts and savvy to stand up to the Bush crowd even before Iraq, and during this entire election cycle. It was Wes Clark, as a candidate, then as a surrogate for Kerry. His own campaign never made enough headway because the Rethug-controlled media feared him the most, so ignored him, and the Dem. establishment couldn't take someone not under their thumb. But Clark has the necessary ingredients to take on the Rethugs. Grew up in the heartland from humble beginnings, war hero, 4-star General, leader. He can relate to those people in the rural areas and flyover states which gave W the election as no one since Clinton. It is time to start working for Clark '08

This is one error that the Progressive movement(?) needs to quit making: we need to quit assuming that people will eventually realize the connection between their politics and its consequences.
As I recall, the author of "what's the matter with Kansas" also makes this same point.
It's all about narrative. It's always, always possible to spin a narrative that explains current events in whatever terms you choose.
We either succeed in replacing their narratives with ours, or this will continue, forever.

he'd be dealing with 5 more rethuglican Senate assholes who were hell-bent on making him look like a fool.
At the same time, Dumbyass will continue to look like a fool regardless of who's got the power.

This is based off a letter written to an ex-girlfriend or, in my case and ex-wife.
Picture it being sent to Dubya to express your anxiety over the next 4 years, then regretting having sent it:
"and there's two ways out of this: pull myself out or slit my wrists i'm so damned lonely and i'm so scared perhaps i shouldn't have written"
I'm working on recording this now. Old Dubya has really helped my Trent Reznor outlook on life.
Quartet therapy? I hope you didn't saw your viola in half with angst. Cheers, MF

Nevermind the $1.7 billion/day we're racking up in deficit spending. It'll have to be a Democrat eventually, who'll have to be the heavy and raise taxes. But for now, let the baby have his fun spending.
That's the republican party - where democrats are tax and spend, repugs are just spend.

They've been as destructive and irresponsible and corrupt as they could possibly be. I keep wondering, when is it BAD ENOUGH that people will wake up? I think now they could destroy half the world and make half the people in this country homeless, and STILL they'd be voted in on "Moral Values" and "Steady Leadership" or some such crap.

What are they going to give an excuse for now, the world is against us and we need to fight back or something
I was thinking the time for offense was in 2002, but now we need no excuse for nothing.
