| Does anyone have Paul Begala's email address? |
|
Today on Crossfire, he just sat there when Carlson went on about how Bush has a mandate. How is 51% of the vote a mandate???
This is pure Repub strategy--conning people into believing that the win gives them an overwhelming public support for their agenda.
I'd like to email Begala and tell him to stop playing along.

| 7. If nothing else, this "election" did one thing for me... |
|
it weaned me off the incessant whore network news, the even bigger whore cable news networks, and has re-introduced to some old friends residing on Nick-at-Night. Instead of spending my evening hours filling my voracious appetite for news, I'll leave that to others and will learn all I need to know about whatever I need to know it about right here at DU! I think seeing the likes of Tweety, Hannity, Bow-tie boy, Wolfie, or Whore Woodruff right now would make me either puke or blow a gasket. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving with my family so blowing the gasket is out, and I've never liked puking. So it's bye-bye network and cable news and hello Gunsmoke!

| 3. heard Begala on NPR today |
|
and he was terrific.
made some good points about how it's a mistake to have a congressman run. How easy it was to decimate Bob Dole when you have a history of votes made in every direction,
That's what they do.. make deals and vote every which way.
We need a governor to run and that's what he was saying.

| 6. Yet wasn't he a Dean basher? |
|
Forgive me if I'm totally wrong, but wasn't Begala one of the guys who bashed Dean back when he was in the running for the nomination? He didn't seem to think it was a good idea to pick a governor then. He seemed to like the DLC candidates - Edwards, Lieberman, Kerry...

Someone please KICK HIM IN THE NUTS!
When the media did the drive-by on Dean and laughed about it, we said, "Vietnam will NOT innoculate Kerry." And it didn't. We needed energy, we needed to get out the vote, we needed to counter the stupid attacks. Take their Bibles? Gay marriage?
Many are postulating that it's the fundies being brought out on the gay marriage issue that pushed it for Bush. There was a candidate who had successfully dealt with that issue. And when Bush stated that his personal opinion, like Dick's, was NOT the same as the Republican platform, why was that not ATTACKED? His stated position was the SAME as Kerry, so if the friggin fundies came out to vote on THAT ISSUE, why break for Bush? Bush doesn't go to church, Kerry does. Bush's fruit is rotten, but Kerry didn't use that line but once or twice.
We need to suppress their fuckin vote. We could have, we didn't. GRRR.
Begala is an asshat if he's saying that now, because he was dissmissive of that very point when it was raised during the primaries.
I STILL think there were some in the DNC/DLC that figured back in 2002 that 2004 would be a "re-building" cycle and gamed everything accordingly. And when it looked like we could win, the gamed system worked against us (like the abbreviated primary season, we needed to have our targets spread out longer).

those who directly contributed to the election debacle. We cannot get our country back by providing them support by being part of their viewership.
