apart from marching on Warshington and not spending any damn dimes, how are folks showing unified dis-approval for the coronation?


-are people wearing black/blue/orange ?

-are there satellite demos in other areas for those of us that won't be in DC

-armbands?

-honking horns at a particular time?


I want it to be clear that I an not part of the phony mandate.

1. I know that wearing black and/or orange has been discussed

here on DU. In Detroit, there's an anti-inauguration event where you pay $1.00 for soup and bread and I forgot what else they're doing. I'll be on the road back and forth to Columbus for a meeting tomorrow, so will miss everything other than what I can get on the radio. I am planning to wear black, though. Wouldn't you know I'd be in Columbus of all places on coronation day!?!??! The scene of the crime!

10. Biloxi, Mississippi - on the Town Green

There is a anti-war demonstration all day long, a recreation of the graves of all soldiers killed in Iraq has been put up on the green and this will go on all day (8-5)

There will be a Performance Piece consisting of a coffin and a Funeral March down
Main Street commemorating Inauguration Day for George W. Bush. Please respond as soon as possible if you have any other thoughts, comments or suggestions. We need your support and your participation.

12. Our whole family is

decked in blue today from head to toe. DH and I have our flag pins on
upside down and the kids went to school today with an extra set of clothes and some extra snackies in their lunches just incase something happened (like in Boston last night) that might raise the security level and delay them getting home or us getting to them. My 4yo knows he's dressed in blue because we don't have a new president. He asked us if we get a new president soon. DH told him "not likely". I was having to explain to him a bit because he's been watching some cartoon about the Revolutionary War with the "red" coats and the "blue" guys. Hmmmm, even then, the blue guys were the good guys :)

Our 11yo knows exactly why we sent extra clothes and lunch fixings in with her today. They have no cafeteria and their home rooms have boxes of granola bars, boxed juices and bottled water in case they have to stay in the school for an extended period. We decided to do that when DH and saw the article about them preparing shelters up to 200 miles away from DC in Lebanon PA. Better safe than sorry, and if she doesn't need the clothes as a spare change, she will be nonetheless glad to get out of her "uniform" of khakis and a polo shirt into her jeans and a sweatshirt.

Broward actually, the most blue county of the state!
I haven't seen anyone doing anything about things.
Its just back to life as usual.
The only thing I DO see are alot of leftover Kerry/Edwards bumpers stickers, much, much more than Bush stickers.

18. The Orange State (TN) keeps chanting "we'll take our country back!"

Nashville, TN will have our sixth public rally since December 12 to protest the stolen election and the many other policy-related cluster-fucks by which this regime will go down in history.

Greens are starting early with drumming on the grounds of the State Capital (around 11:00 am), and then a host of groups will converge on the Federal Building for a mass rally between 4-6 pm. In addition to anti-election theft folks, there will be people and groups focused on the war, the environment, GLBT rights and many other issues. We will have speakers and will light candles at dark. Since the Federal Building is at 10th and Broadway, we should be seen by thousands of Nashville rush hour traffickers.

Bring signs, candles and attitude. See you there.
