Nader granted a Recount in 11 NH Wards

Washington, DC, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Former independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader will get his vote recount in 11 counties in New Hampshire, the Nader campaign said Friday.

After submitting their initial written request Nov. 5, the campaign was able to raise the $2,000 needed to begin a vote recount, after receiving an extension from the New Hampshire attorney general. According to the campaign, certain precincts appeared "suspicious" with an unusual number of votes favoring President George W. Bush.

The campaign wired its down payment, raised by small donations, to the secretary of state's office Friday.

According to campaign spokesman Kevin Zeese, the recount will not be statewide; it will cover only 11 counties and a total of 45,000 votes.

This is only around 50,000 votes total. But they are wards with 2 - 3 times the growth in Bush votes as in votes for the Democrat.

CONCORD, N.H. -- New Hampshire's election officials agreed Friday to a last-minute recount of the presidential race requested by Ralph Nader.

Nader asked for the recount last week, but the state initially said no because a check to pay for it had not arrived in time. Nader had until 4:30 p.m. Friday to get his check in.

4. That Report is factually inaccurate

There are only 10 counties in NH. Nader will be recounting in 10 wards which are subsections of cities and towns. Concord for instance has 8 wards and the recount will encompass 45K votes. The recount is centered on south east NH which has the higher population and tends to be the more progressive part of the state due to the influx of people from Mass.

Hi everyone. First post here, although I've been reading for some time now.

I love it when you give money (like I did for the Nader recount) and then you see the direct result of your money. Sometimes money in politics can disappear into this huge morass (not moral ass...that's a separate thread entirely). I'm happy to see the recounts started so we can start to get some closure on this election.

We need to spread our money around. If you didn't give to the Nader recount, please consider giving to the Greens (Cobb) or Libertarians (Badnarik) for the OH recount. I think they'll need over $100,000. I don't have the links right here, but they've been posted in several other threads.

I'm proud to now be officially part of the DU community. You guys make me proud. I'm a longtime daily KOSsack, but there's much more activity here on the election stuff.

Connect the arrows, straight-ticket option available. Your ballot, which is huge, is feed into the scanner as you exit the polling area. Salem is also Sununu country, although most of the population there hates both Sununus passionately.

I'm don't live there anymore, but I still vote there by absentee ballot, which was just like the one I've described above. Back in 2002, there were lots of problems at the polling stations--like repugs with signage and lots of police presence--totally over-the-top.

Now that it's already happening, I think you can trust me when I say I still don't think it's a good idea. I'm not a troll.

Doesn't anyone remember how there were two sets of early exit poll data, with one showing a 3% lead in NH and another showing a 18% lead.

The 18% lead just doesn't make sense. All the other early exit poll Kerry leads were within the margin of error from the pre-election tracking polls. 18% was way off.

The Republicans knew NH had a verifiable paper trail. This is a red herring designed to absolve the e-voting machines. Remember, Rove was talking about the huge lead in NH on Faux News. Why would he want to publicize it?

How could they do it? Switch the one's digit in the leak: 51-48 becomes 58-41.

Once this shows no fraud, the media will ridicule us, and this will provide evidence for using more e-voting next election.

I don't trust Ralph Nader. Everyone google search -->Frank Luntz exit poll<-- and see the other early exit poll that didn't show up on slate.

Don't back down from the fight is this turns out to be what happens!

31. NH on Election Day

In Somersworth, two of my relatives went to register to vote (they had moved to town earlier in the fall). One went in the morning - no problem, registered and voted. The other went in the evening and was told they could not register there -- they had to go back to their old home (two towns away). Completely bogus. My relative said, I kid you not - well I have a lawyer in my family, and they are in state today working on the election and I can call them. The voting person handed my relative the papers to register without saying anything. Someone told my relative this person had done the same thing to 3-4 other people.

Don't know if it is the same ward that is being recounted, but I can find out.

On edit: I heard the lines in Manchester were very long on election day. Most of these towns are close to each other - in southern part of state. Sandown, Newton and Danville are really right next to each other, and rural, all north/west of Salem. Pelham is in between Nashua and Salem sort of. Litchfield is northwest of Pelham Somersworth is near Portsmouth/Dover. Very interesting.

38. Oh-ho! The plot thickens

This NH recount is absolutely fascinating, esp. as more and more stories like yours are told here. It doesn't sound as if the actual vote is anywhere near accurate.

If this recount goes the way we expect it to, we need to prepare ourselves. The recount in NY for the state senate was necessitated by machines that had been tampered with and, possibly, preloaded with votes. In spite of that info., the MSM is not reporting the reasons behind the recount. Nothing about the missing/damaged seals on the machines. Nothing about the machines being in the custody of an unauthorized person overnight before the votes were tallied. Nothing, or close to it. Should we hear positive results from NH, we may need to set off on another email/phone/letter campaign to get the word out. We absolutely cannot trust the MSM to report the facts. They appear averse to that, lately, for reasons unknown.

Just wanted to remind myself of this, too. ;)

Gelinas has filed for a recount that will take place next Friday.
