because she is a traitor and a hypocrite. How can an openly lesbian woman allow someone Shrub back in office===he who is working against her and her rights to be treated as an equal? When Lynn Cheney pulled that nauseating stunt where she cried "cheap and tawdry" as a preemptive strike so that people would talk about that rather than how STUPID the president is...it just made me wanna throw up.

And I started thinking:

One day I heard a reporter gasping because they actually let Mary get off the front exit of the plane with everyone else, because she never does that-she is just continually marginalized, and the reporter thought it odd that they would let her do that...this in itself speaks volumes...they act like they're ashamed of her, or something. To me, Lynn Cheney was acting like she was ashamed of her own daughter...

But then Elizabeth Edwards expressed everything I was thinking, thank goodness!

be voting Bush Chaney knowing this. They likely would be staying home or voting 3rd party. Seeing an attack by the Fundies against Lynn Chaney and the VP only redoubles my belief that 04 was stolen.

Mary Cheney is another classic example of someone who has used their circumstances to great personal benefit, only to pull up the ladder of success behind them, lest others who are like them might benefit. It's abundantly clear that the RR doesn't extend its "family values" to those families with gay sons or daughters. Perhaps this latest episode will serve as an eye opener for Ms. Cheney, in terms of what is to be gained by continuing to support an administration that caves in to forces that would deny basic human rights to her and other gay citizens.

27. I have a feeling the religious right won't like this administration second

time around, but then, neither will we.

The neocon political philosophy calls for using religious piety to gain power. In principle the neocons (Straussians) then control the masses with a religion they themselves don't believe in. But the hack philosopher Strauss made some big mistakes about the nature of the forces he advocated unleashing upon the body politic.

The religious right is going to be expecting moral purity and religious orthodoxy within government itself, now that they think that they are in power. But they're going to get a rude awakening. They are going to find out that they are not in power -- Bush and Cheney are. And neither Bush nor Cheney feel any need to cater to the demands of the religious right when it comes to themselves and their entourage.

The hungry lions of the religious right might still be placated by having a few of us secular humanist (in their eyes, anyway) peons thrown to them from time to time. But I have a feeling that the rank and file will soon know that they've been had.

(Most of the leadership of the religious right, I believe, has always known it was in a pact with the devil).
