Thanks for the post
sounds like there's a lot left to do in terms of the actual counting. I thought they were spending the time up until the 15th verifying the ballots
sounds like from the article that they aren't done with that yet
are they dragging it out? nah, Blackwell wouldn't do that

| 2. holding out hope for a miracle |

......Unofficial vote totals show President Bush beating Democrat John Kerry by 136,000 votes in Ohio, and Kerry has conceded there are not enough outstanding votes to swing the state his way.
It is too early to know whether the provisional ballots have benefited Bush or Kerry because counties first need to determine their validity before conducting the count.
Some people said they were holding out hope for a miracle until all votes were counted. Lawyers with Kerry's campaign were in Ohio to check into voters' concerns about ballots, but said they were not trying to challenge the election.
The counties have until Dec. 1 to complete their final count.
The focus is on the 155,337 provisional ballots cast by Ohio voters. Provisional ballots are cast by voters whose names are not on the rolls for some reason or whose eligibility is otherwise in doubt, and are counted after the election is over if they are deemed valid......

It sounds like Ohio has not updated it's totals since election night (wasn't it 136,000 for Bush then?). At least this article mentions the recount.

| 5. About the recount: the article says the count will be certified BEFORE the |

recount. So, even if a miracle occurs, doesn't that mean that there is absolutely NO chance whatsoever that there could be moving vans in from of 1900 Pennsylvania Ave. next January? Because that is what I've really been hoping for. I didn't realize that it was set up so that the recount, even if it turns up a Kerry majority, just won't matter. :(
Or, am I missing something (again, I might add. There is just simply too much contradictory information floating around to remain on top of it all.) Is there someplace that synthesizes all of this in a simple format? Using only vetted information?
