Even if we win this election, a large percentage of the country still believes 9/11 and Iraq had a connection.

I am so mad at the media right now. Those cowtowing little jingoists had better think long and hard about what they did when they decided not to question the administration's reasoning for going to war. This should have been the opportunity for them to prove that they weren't merely puppets of the ruling class, and tell the American people the truth. The blood of the American servicemen and women is on their hands. Given AWOL's performance, this election should have been a cakewalk, and it would have been if anyone had the fucking balls to show this administration for what it really is. Shame on you.

| 17. I have always despised "education" in America. |
|
Despite my high school diploma and despite my very belated BS, I am almost completely self-taught (as I suspect many DUers are. We have taught our 3 children the art of critical thinking in the home. My 19-year-old daughter voted yesterday for the first time in her life. And she voted proudly, and she voted straight Democrat ticket. Had my other two kids been old enough to vote, THEY would have done the same. I don't believe that it's because I'm a Democrat idealogue (though that might be the case.) I believe that they have the gift of discernment to see through the lies and bullshit in the world. They have the power to gaze into the face of evil and recognize it for what it is.
I'm afraid that self-education and teaching our children well is the only viable school that makes sense these days. That is certainly a major part of our recovery from this nightmare world we find ourselves in.

| 19. I've had to revisit the education system in recent years because |
|
I'm raising my teenage grandson. I am absolutely APPALLED at the shallowness of it..this ridiculous education system is completely broken.
Only the "best and the brightest" could possibly get through the damn thing and even then, like you say, they DON'T LEARN CRITICAL THINKING. No civics classes, no ethics taught, no to diversity...ZIP!
I'M teaching my g.son more about ethics than the education system is. My g.son occasionally asks to be enrolled in independent studies as the TEACHERS aren't much better, for him, than the curriculum.
VERY SAD and suspicious. I'm fighting with superintendents and teachers all the damn time! It's awful.

We have done some bad shit to others over the years.
Maybe it is just payback time for our country. We will have to suffer before we see the light.
I don't want to think that, but I can't get it out of my head.

| 9. I agree. 62% of Republicans continue to believe that Saddam was |
|
responsible for 9/11. The "liberal media" repeated this over and over and failed to call anyone on this huge lie. Cheney is still getting away with saying this, even though he denies it. He claims to have never said this, but then, he goes out and says it, yet again. He is lying about telling a lie and nobody, in the "liberal" mainstream media, is calling him on this. I certainly blame the media for this national misperception.:grr:

| 10. YEAH, BUSH/CHENEY DID 9/11 AND WE HAVEN'T FACED IT |
|
End of story. It's Fascism until we do face it, and the Democrats who weren't able to face and publicize it yet may have sealed our fate...like Nazi Germany our mass self-delusion will very likely take us all the way down. If YOU didn't do the research, find the hidden truth and insist on it to everyone you know, you were effectively complicit in this mass self-delusion and self-destruction of Democracy in this country. Saying Saddam Hussein didn't orchestrate 9/11 means nothing, the only the question is whether you know that Cheney did and you did everything in your power to spread the news.

| 16. Why hasn't the media covered Stanley Hilton's 9/11 victim's lawsuit |
|
Hilton was Bob Dole's chief counsel, and has signed up 400+ 9/11 victims, so must be credible. But his charges that 9/11 was allowed to happen by BushCo (may have even been planned by Bush) have been totally ignored by major media, only reported by the more conspiracist websites/radio talk shows where he can't get credibility.

| 11. The numbers do not show a Bush majority |
|
The official number of votes cast is barely above 2000.
Yet you and I and everyone else saw a record turnout.
Where did that record turnout disappear to?
Don't be fooled. Be angry, and be determined.
Understand that none of us can shrug our shoulders, give up, and go back to our ordinary lives, because from tonight onward, there are no ordinary lives.
We are on the edge of an aggressive fascist state. The next few days of our lives will determine the fate of our families and of the world. If we don't stop it, each and every one of us will be crushed by it. Now is the time to pull together, every one of us, from the reddest Reds to the true conservatives, and fight, every which way we can.
There will be demonstrations. Join them.
Write letters to the editor to international newspapers, and ask the people of the world to put pressure, including economic pressure, on our government. The US government is extremely vulnerable to economic pressure.
Let people know exactly how the numbers don't add up, and keep Bush/Cheney/Rove from spinning this into a victory.

| 12. The Media is the issue |
|
It always has been, at least the last 12 years or so, and it has just gotten worse and worse.
Take tonight for example showing Kerry's place empty and Bush's packed.
Well that was because Bush is in Texhell and 1 hour behind, and Edwards spoke and said wait until tommorow, Bush has yet to open his mouth.
But to the media this was Dems admitting defeat and Repugs gloating in glory to Jesus.
