Not that he had a lot to lose, but the long hair needs to go. Maybe he's just doing it for a movie.
He's a pretty good actor, but some of his movies weren't so hot.

| 2. Just don't download one of his movies without paying. |
|
You wouldn't want him to have to downsize to only 5 houses and only 3 Mercedes Benzs.

Wicker Man is a terrible movie (I don't think that much of the original either0, but he didn't write or direct it. Some of the films he acts in are good, some bad. Nobody forces you to watch any films he's in.

In that case, I strongly recommend 'The Happening', including the DVD extras.

I like his movies. At least the eclectic offbeat stuff like Raising Arizona.
I don't think I've see any of his action-adventure rambo stuff.
I like the guy. He seems cool.

| 14. "Face/Off" Was an Outstanding Action Movie |
|
John Travolta and Nicholas Cage did an amazing job of switching roles and making it believable.
"Con Air" was pretty good too.
"Adaptation" and "Lord of War" were both excellent independent movies, although extremely different types.
Cage has certainly chosen some stinkers, though.

He'd be a lot happier if he gave away half his fortune. He's a very unhappy person.

The Coen Brother's first movie, Blood Simple, was very good but barely broke even. Raising Arizona made 4 times its budget at the box office.
Wild at Heart was the only David Lynch movie that was even remotely successful at the box office.
Cher got an Academy Award acting opposite Cage.
There are a lot of projects where someone who had a history of risking other peoples' money for arts' sake trusted Cage to help them do it and get enough of a payoff so they could keep working and keep taking risks, and he helped them pull it off.
There are a lot of projects where someone who was already known for having huge smashes but wanted to keep some artistic credibility, and Cage helped them do that.
It must be very nice to be rich. As an artist, it must also be nice to help so many movies that take risks, to leave something of value other than the bottom line, become successful.

| 21. Good point. I wonder if Cage sees it that way. |

Helping the Coen's on their way to success must be rewarding.
Btw I saw Blood Simple and enjoyed it but my Father hated it. He was a film buff too but just had a hard time wrapping his head around the pscho path.
