People have been asking why baseball players use steroids especially now that the new testing policy is in effect. Some people think it is because they think they will not get caught. I think baseball players are still using steroids because they want to get the big contracts. So what do DUers think?

People do all sorts of wacky things for money. Taking steroids compares well to working in a mine or turning tricks.

Baseball is nothing but entertainment. if the guys hit better, run faster and throw harder, who cares. As long as it is fun to watch. And if someones' arms fall off ala a SNL skit, during performance, well that would be funny.

HGH and steroids like "The Clear" and the cream cannot be detected by a urine test, only by a blood test and blood testing is not in the new policy. Baseball has known this has been going on since it started and they don't care. They are only pretending to care now because it's a hot topic. It's ridiculous that the minor leagues have a much tougher steroid policy than the majors. They blood test and have stiffer penalties.
Yes, the players use steroids to put up bigger numbers which leads to bigger contracts.
