They just scored 13 runs in the 8th, coming from behind to take a 20-11 lead of TB. The d-rays kept the same pitcher in during most of this barrage.

4. I think Pinella WANTS to get fired. |
|
Tampa Bay deserves to lose, giving up 13 runs in one inning. I don't care how many pitchers they used.

8. 13 runs, 12 hits, 4 home runs including back to back to back ... |
|
the first home run in the 3 in a row sequence was Sheffield's 2nd 3-run homer of the game ... the Matsui home run was a monster hit ...
the Yankee offense was truly scary once they got rolling ...
of course, on the dark side, can the Yankees count on Randy Johnson or can't they ???

10. except that Tampa Bay has been cleaning their clock all year . . . |
|

and the comeback was tempered by an absolutely horrible outing by starter Randy Johnson . . . coming off two great performances, he totally stunk up the place . . .

13. The fact that Tampa Bay has been cleaning their clock... |

speaks more about the Yankmes than it does the D-Rays.

Today on the radio they were talking about two Northern League (indpendent minors) teams that have a very strange promotion.
X-Box nite in which a fan from each team will be selected at random and play MLB 2005 (with customized teams reflecting the real ones) for 2 innings on the Jumbotron and then the real teams taking the field from the 3rd inning on.

16. nothing more than a fluke... |
|
Yanks got damn lucky again
crappy playing all night until Nomo got tired and poor Lou had exhausted what is left of his bullpin and had to use a pitcher who was 1-5 up til then. A pitcher who had absolutely no command over his pitching served up nothing but hittable pitches
If the Yanks continue to win the remaining games in this series against TB then it wasn't a fluke..but until then it was a fluke and it was all about the pitching
I guess we will have to wait and see if this a true comeback or just a fluke due to a sucky pitcher and an exhausted pitching staff
