| Vikes luck out, back into the playoffs. |
|
I am a huge Vikings fan, but I really didn't want to see them make the playoffs if they couldn't win their last game. But thanks to the Saints beating the Panthers, we're in.
And who's up? The Packers, whom the Vikings have NEVER met in the playoffs before. Should make for some interesting drama.
So the question is, do the Vikes have even the slightest chance? My head says no way - our defense can't stop anybody, and our offense is making too many costly mistakes.
BUT... although Green Bay completed a season sweep of the Vikes, they only did so with last-second field goals in BOTH games. On the field, these two teams are very evenly matched - weak defenses, mistake-prone offenses.
I'd give the Packers the edge, but I don't think it's a gimme for them. You never know what can happen.

.."The Cossings" which was just blocks from the Metrodome, I used to be a Vike fan also but frankly, as you well know, they just can't seem to grab the gold ring...sigh....
What was strange was the fact that the first year I moved to Tampa Bay, the Bucks won the Super Bowl...Go figure...

The Vikings have disappointed me (some are worse than others) for 30 years now.

Mike Vick waltzed into Lambeau and beat Green Bay in the first round of the playoffs in a snowstorm a couple of years ago; a dome team beat the best cold weather team in the game at home.
anything can happen.
Losing Chavous (sp?) was a bad break (no pun intended) for you guys, though.

Yeah, that's a major loss. On a defense that is weak even with all the starters. Eh, we'll see. I can only be pleasantly surprised at this point.

| 7. well, I'm a huge packers fan, but . . . . |
|
the GB defense hasn't exactly shut the rest of the conference down week after week, either.
probably another 65 point game . . . .

| 6. It's the perfect set up for the Vikes. |

No one expects anything out of them, after they floundered in the second half, while the Packers went 9-2 over their last 11 games. Still, the Packers didn't pound on anybody, and, yes, these teams are very evenly matched. I suspect that the underdog factor will play well for Minnesota, and I have confess that I predict a Vikings win in week one.
Yes, I confess because I am a Packers fan.
Oh, but I know that whichever team does win is long gone come week two.

I will agree with you 100% on that. Neither of our teams has the defense necessary to win a championship.

| 10. Vikings are a 43 year old JOKE!!! |
|
From Super Bowl 4 where I sat in front of the black and white TV in my replica Joe Kapp Vikings uniform watching them get smoked by the Chiefs to this Sunday, the Vikings have been nothing but a big fat disappointment. If they had any self-respect at all they would forfeit. No way they deserve to be in the playoffs after losing to the Lions, Bears, Giants, and Redskins...
L.A. wants a team?...as far as I am concerned they can have the Vikings.
