4. Boggs Yes, But Sandberg?

I can easily see Wade "the skirt chaser" Boggs being inducted into the HOF.

But Ryan Sandberg? In the article, you'll notice they promoted
Ryan's defensive skills, and at no time do they mention Sandberg's batting average. Hell, they kept Bill Mazeroski out of the HOF for being the best defensive 2nd baseman in history. And he had to wait until Ted William's died and the remaining Old Timer's inducted him. Ted never gave the nod to anyone with a low batting average. Maybe Maz broke some ground when he was inducted for his defense.

...and he was still overlooked, despite clutch hitting, until the Vet's committee made it right.

I'm not saying Sandberg wasn't deserving for his defensive skills, but Maz was even more deserving in his time.

.344 On base pct.
282 Hrs, 277 as a second baseman which until 2004 was the most ever by a second baseman.
1381 runs scored
1061 RBI's.
Ryno's induction is overdue. If Ozzie Smith gets in the first time (he did), then Ryno most certainly should have. Congrats to one of the greatest second basemen as well as one of my favorite players of all time, Ryne Sandberg. Now it's time to get Ron Santo in. March should do it. Thats when the old timers committee meets.
Ryno also has the best career fielding percentage (.989) among second basemen, as well as five grand slams and five .300 or better batting averge seasons. There can be no doubt about his induction.

Nothing against Boggs, but his BA was always #1. He was a good mechanical hitter, but I don't recall him being a super clutch guy....

But Jim Rice, there's a guy I really liked to watch play the game....I think Rice, Lynn, and Evans were the greatest set of outfielders (defensively and offensively) to all play together.

They once had a throwing contest from home plate. Yaz bounced it off he Green Monster. Reggie put it onto Causeway St.

19. The Hall of Fame is all politics, total joke.

If you were a mediocre player for the New York Yankees, you were a cinch to make the Hall. Richie Ashburn, a great player from the 1950s for the Phillies, had to wait around 35 years to make the Hall of Fame. If he played for the Yankees he would have been in the Hall by 1968.

What a joke. And some guys not in the Hall have better or similar stats than guys who are. Tony Taylor of the Phillies had over 2,000 hits, more than some guys who are in the Hall.

Put Steve Garvey in.
