I wouldn't have an issue with it if Detroit fans only threw ONE octopus per game - but no, it just has to be a steady stream of them being tossed onto the ice - what a waste. Especially when you consider the state of the world's oceans.
I think it's due time for Red Wings fans to invest in rubber octopi - at least you can use them over and over again.
Sorry for being a drag about this one.

but I've never seen more than a few of them lately - maybe two or three!
But the reason they were around in Detroit anyway was that there are so many Greeks - I don't think that those thrown at games really create much of a dent in the huge numbers sold in Detroit (not sure if Pittsburgh has a large Greek population or not).
