| Norv Turner loses games in such bizarre ways. |
|
The way the Chargers have lost the last two weeks reminds me of some of his losses in Washington. Including one (well not a loss but a tie) that is known as the "head butt" game...Where Gus Frerotte got all excited about a touchdown and banged his head agaisnt the padding on the wall behind the endzone and literally knocked himself silly..that game knocked the Skins out of the playoffs that year. I don't know if its bad coaching or simply bad luck or both, but he certainly seems snakebit in some ways...

even if that was an incomplete pass, which it CLEARLY was not, it landed behind Cutler, so technically it is was a lateral. nice job, muscle head.

Damn that was funny.
The Bolts got screwed by Ed Hercules. That call sucked by every sane measure.

| 3. Don't forget the "turnover" by the Chargers in the 1st quarter. |
|
TV replays showed that Chambers was obviously down BEFORE Bailey stripped him of the ball.
Yet, because the instant replay machine wasn't working at that time, and they had waited two minutes, they decided to "ignore" what millions of people across America saw, and instead award the Broncos the ball. Result was a TD two plays later.
It should have been a 3rd and 2 instead of an INT/fumble.
Instead of 39 - 38 Broncos, had things gone the way they should have, it would have been 38 - 24 San Diego.

4 and 7 3:30 to go Browns down by a touchdown to Pittsburgh he kicks a field goal and banks on an onside kick (that his special teams coach drew up in an illegal formation)
Of course Dave Campos once famously twice decided not to go for 2 on a Thanksgiving game that cost the Cowboys a game.

| 5. Oh, boy, do I remember that well. |

That was when it was truly revealed that Dave had no business being a head coach. A damn good defensive one, but not a head coach. Seems like Romeo may well be in the same league as Campo.

| 6. Norv is a wonderful offensive coordinator |
|
And the architect of the Cowboy resurgence offensively with the early 90's Cowboys. Heck, Norv was chosen to introduce Troy Aikman when Aikman was inducted into the Hall of Fame. However, again, I think head coaching may be out of Norv's league.

| 7. Yes there are great assistants but that does not necessarily mean head coach |
|
Another former Cowboy asst. is Wannstadt (sp?) and he has been a disaster everywhere.
Norv was a great off coordinator but a lot of that comes from Jimmy Johnson's revolutionary scouting*, drafting, and conditioning. That O line was possibly the best ever assembled-mind you they ran a straight I in the age of the West coast offensive with the countertrey (Gibbs) which is a great common sense change in blocking patterns--the Cowboys didn't do that they stuck with the arcane reach blocks in the middle but they had the personnel to do it.
* Johnson used a numerical assessment process that became a standard of human resources starting in the early 90's. Basically a number was assigned to a player's skills, aside from a specific position need they went with the highest number available when their draft turn came. Thank god for Herschel Walker and the Minnesota Vikings!

| 8. Yep, there's Campo, Wannstedt,. and Turner. |
|
Dave is even having a hard time at Pitt. When San Diego hired Norv a couple of year's ago, I thought that this would kill any chance for the Chargers to get to the Super Bowl.
