Giants win opener!

That "poor" hitting Giant lineup scored 10 runs on 12 hits, in a 10-6 victory over the Brewers.

The only bad thing about the afternoon was Tim Lincecum, who was lifted after only 3 innings after giving up 3 runs 4 hits and 78 pitches...I hope he's all right.

2. He had good stuff

but his pitch location wasn't the best. I'm just a little concerned about his health, he was lifted awfully early...Nothing's being said on the post game show though, guess Bochy and Righetti figured it was enough for today.

4. Righetti played a couple years for the Giants

and has been their pitching coach since 2000...might even be the Giants manager one day. So yeah...he's okay with me.

5. I was just wondering how you reconciled that. I remember how I was

really pissed when Rich Hebner left the Pirates in the mid 70's. I had a baseball glove with his name on that I tried to erase. I still own the glove.

Regardless, what is wrong with Linthicum?

it's Lincecum not "Linthicum"...you should know how to spell the name of the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner, at least get close.

Anyway, probably nothing's wrong with him...I worry too much.

8. He'll be fine .. he pitched poorly against Milwaukee last year

when the Giants went 0-6 against the Brewers.

They have a good hitting team.

Pitching? Not so much.

10. I watched him today and honest to God he looks like

he's still in high school with no sign of whiskers on his face.



The Big Unit has I think a 2.20 ERA this spring and AT&T Park becomes a pitcher's park at night, so we'll see.

RJ gives up 2 big flies and loses. Not as bad as the Yankees, though, who have yet to have a starter get a strikeout.

12. He gave up 11 runs and 15 hits in the two games he started

against Milwaukee last year for Arizona.

He struck out the first two batters to start the game and gave up 4 runs in 5 innings, fanning 7 against a powerful Brewers offense.

Not great but certainly not the pounding you predicted.

Have the Dodgers finished up with the AAA Padres yet?

Giving up a couple long flies = getting pounded. The strikeouts were good but we already knew he was a strikeout pitcher. But you put the fastball in the wrong location, you get pounded.

I see the other Barry had a bad start also. Is Matt Cain the ace now?

And before you say it...yes the Dodgers middle relief corp is crap.
