As for the Skins, I was ecstatic that Orakpo was there at #13, and that the brass was actually bright enough to take him. That said, trading away that 2nd for Mr. Dancing Boy last year robbed them of a chance to get a decent RT. It would have been nice to see Phil Loadholt lined up on that side.

|
And our Packers really need defense. Note- just because I have a Cubs avatar doesn't automatically mean that I am a Bears fan as well. Around here, I have to explain that a lot. And another note, are the Packers going to draft an offensive lineman or two along the way? Imo, another running back wouldn't hurt either. I just am not convinced that Grant is all that good. Shonn Greene anyone?

| 7. Dolphins picked a bunch of little guys |
|
Not thrilling. Miami was predictably pushed around by Baltimore in the trenches in the playoff game. I thought we needed one more draft of beef.
Jason Taylor has to be happy so far. Miami will probably resign him if they don't stock up on edge rushers. None today.
If we were going to go small I wanted Hakeem Nicks, the WR the Giants picked. He not only makes the 50/50 plays, he makes the 20/80 plays. All season I was astonished at how many times he simply had better hands and more athletic arrogance than the DBs.
Pat White will be an intriguing situation. At least it means John Beck will be departing soon, further stamping the '07 Dolphin draft as horrid.

| 11. A 5:11 Cornerback is not considered little... |
|
Their 3rd pick in the 2nd round is a 6:3 1/2 CB.
They got tall Cornerbacks and they were much needed.
I'm thinking they got White to replace Brown in the Wildcat---and then trade Brown for a receiver...mho

they're making fun of Miami's 3rd round pick...WR Patrick Turner. Mel Kiper says he's not much of a player and should have gone in the 6th or 7th round.

Turner’s selection was criticized by ESPN draftnik Todd McShay, saying the draft had featured a “run on good receivers up to Patrick Turner.”http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thedailydolphin/2009/04/26/dolphins-get-wr-uscs-patrick-turner-in-the-third-round/BTW, don't you think the Dolphins got White to replace Pennington in the Wildcat....since often times the useless Chad is split out wide?

If I was a Raider fan I'd be ready to tar and feather Al Davis, but luckily I'm a fan of the team on the other side of the bay and they generally manage some nifty draft magic.
I'm really looking forward to day 2, it's always interesting to see who they pick late, and wonder if it's the next Joe Montana, who they picked up in the 3rd round after all. Though it's hard to hope for that kind of miracle with Joe Walsh gone. That man, in addition to being one hell of a coach, had a fantastic eye for talent.

Since we took NOBODY on day one, and Angelo's record on day one is abysmal (about 1 in 8), but his record on day two is very good, the best thing the Bears could do is NOTHING on day one. Especially with no #1 anyway. GAC

|
We need an offensive line. We need a defensive line. So of course Al drafts a 4x100m relay team. It's a good thing they're fast, they're going to be running a lot (running for their lives mainly).

ON THE BOARD.
DHB was projected late first round at best and the Raiders REALLY reached for him.
