Edit: It appears to Democratic Senators have flipped the fence and voted for the Republican parties leadership in the NY State Senate. Although they still remain Democrats this has many consequences for the state, one of which is that the issue of Same Sex Marriage will probably not come up to a vote.

Lame is lame. :/

4. It doesn't mean they won't get voted out. My former state senator(Mark Gilstrap) lost to a woman

in the primary because quite frankly he wasn't a very good Democrat. That was in Leavenworth/Wyandotte county Kansas. I bet you 10 dollars one or two of those Senators won't be re-elected. If memory serves I believe the most seats up in 2010 in the Senate are controlled by Republicans anyways.

10. First off, I was assuming this was the case because several Democrats in the Senate previously

threatened to jump ship if the same sex marriage issue was brought to a vote. Thus, it was my original instinct that this is what had caused the switch in power. Either way the issue of equal marriage rights is now off the table in the NY Senate.
