Anyone else noticing that the sticky threads are pretty pedestrian, but that the really eye-catching nasty ones are about LGBTers? And that they're allowed through?

If that doesn't wrap up the attitude around here in a nice tidy bow . . .

Using Firefox or Safari and a Control-F you can search pages for key words.

I had to open 16 different pages of stickies for each word search but I found the ones Prism mentioned.

Cboy tombstone (one of those mouthy gays, ya know) and that Silo bit were the two I was referencing.

Usually I might let it slide without comment, but mix in with that dying of AIDS thread and the post on how gays yearn for genocide from people who are still here, and well, getting a little tired of how stuff against LGBTers is allowed to slide again and again and again and again.

Yet so many of us are gone/banned for things that came nowhere close.

It's a very tasteless sticky and the person who put it up there should be ashamed. I miss him too. I come here less and less. I miss the passion and fire of the LGBT DUers who were TS'd. When I came here in 2005 I had really no awareness of the issues when it came to gay rights, although as a straight liberal I was certainly for them. But the people here who highlighted the urgent need to support them did so in a way that really moved me. There are still a few around, but they get shouted down and I can't imagine seeing the sticky allowed about cboy makes anyone feel very safe here. :(

Thankfully I did not see it. I got a real kick out of cboy and found him to be fun and pleasant and will miss him.

I was always in the fight but have learned so much here. The one thing I can't seem to be able to breach is the lack of understanding and compassion. I expect that elsewhere but not here. It is so wrong. I can't imagine calling yourself a liberal (or compassionate or reasonable or even human) and saying the things I see here regarding GLBT issues.
