Extremely disturbing, brutal attack on a transgendered person in a McDonald's

Had I been there with some sort of weapon (ex. broom handle) I can imagine myself doing serious, lasting damage to the perpetrators of this crime. I'm normally a pretty gentle guy, but look out when I see red.

1. One of the most disturbing videos I've ever seen. The employees stood around and cheered the attack.

The guy who filmed the attack on his cell phone urges the girls to flee from the police. One older woman tried to help the victim and got punched in the face by the assailants. The store manager wanders around ineffectually.

This video makes humanity look bad. That's all I can say.

That didn't happen inside and didn't involve any employees, though. There was something bizarre down in Florida recently at a fast food place.

7. There's a lot of space between "not stepping in" and encouraging the violence.

The employee who filmed the attack while urging on the attackers could have used his cell phone to call the police, for instance.

I'm glad that he did film this, though. The film and his bigoted commentary are very instructive, particularly to those who keep insisting that GLBTQ people have nothing to worry about.

Those who defend and employ 'ministers' who urge maltreatment of GLBT people are the cause of such attacks, they are covered in guilt for each of these acts of violence. I was simply pointing out how so many believe that they have no civic duty to get involved and s

some reporters believe they are "above the story" and are there to record and report and not inject themselves in anyway. I doubt very much that that scum was a reporter. I don't doubt that he felt any sense of humanity to come to the assistance of this poor girl.

By the way, the police have verified that she was truly female and that the "single" report that she was a transgendered person was just an attempt to justify the fight.

I always feel like everyone here is ready to pick a fight. Use one wrong phrase or idiom and you are accosted with the "what do you mean by that" attack!! Talk about a chip on the shoulder!! Gays ask for tolerance and acceptance but offer little.

I come from an unusual background and maybe it gave me a little thicker, albiet darker skin. My Dad is black and met Mom in while stationed in Germany. Sis and I are therefore German-American and both born in Germany. I was mostly educated there before we moved stateside so I have a stronge German accent. My father retired from the Army (WO5 Green Beret) and became very conservative. My Mom went from communist to socialist to democrate to republican and is not an officer in a local tea-party. How is that for a diverese upbringing?
What it taught me was to respect everyone. Maybe that explains why I expect to dawn the hood for my doctoral in Interbational Comms.

I have know gay family members that I know of and guess some of my friends are gay but it is the least thing of interest in our discussions so forgive me if I stubble and offend someone. It is never intentional.

2) Trans women are, in fact, 'truly female.'

3) Most transgender people do not like to be referred to as 'transgendered', since it implies that they have completed sex reassignment therapy. Most transgender people will never complete full SRT due to how expensive the process is and most insurance still does not cover the entire cost.
