The straight and gay worlds both wish we didn't exist.
They love us for the gawk and kink factor and to feel superior but when it comes to standing with us they just fail to care.
There's no point in trying to convince you how wrong you are, but I will tell you this: Such sweeping, unfair generalizations make it incredibly difficult for me to lend support to
the individual who makes such statements.
I care very much about transgendered people -- but I won't give you a free pass on your damning statements about lesbians and gay men just
because you're transgendered. You want to be treated just like everyone else? Fine -- then you neither deserve nor will receive the kid-glove treatment. It's a level playing field for everybody -- and if a gay man ever posted that kind of crap about lesbians ("Lesbians are manhaters! They want to kill all men!"), I'd be on his case like white on rice.
For chrissakes, if you
want to feel so hated and degraded, go ahead. But your perception is both skewed and self-defeating. You keep asking how to "fix" transphobia by working on the problem together, while simultaneously -- and repeatedly -- painting lesbians and gay men as your enemies.
Yeah, that's really fostering a sense of empathy in me and a willingness to work with you. :eyes:
If you had hoped to find someone who acknowledges transphobia as a very real problem and would
like to work toward ending it, you've found that in me.
But before I'm willing to address transphobia
as it affects you, you're going to have to deal with your own homophobia first.
You don't even see how you're alienating the very people who might have been willing to work with you on this, do you?
