A man is followed off of an "N" train by another man who harassed him with anti-gay language, pushed him down elevated platform exit stairs to the street, and kicked and punched repeatedly.

2. This makes me so angry

Since the governement does it, the shitheads can do it, right? Isn't that what we're seeing? The chickens are coming home to roost. In the fucking East Village of all places!

The fuckers attack in groups and prey on people they think they can whip. I'm not a pacifist, but I don't believe violence is the solution in most cases. In this case, it might be the only solution. Bullies prey on people they perceive as weak. With all the hate speech being passed off as political speech these days, the bullies are coming out of the woodwork.

With such a large lgbt community in NYC, can't someone form an lgbt version of the guardian angels?

I'll say this:

I know someone who spent weeks on a ventilator because a group of punk ass bitches bashed his head in with a crow bar just because they saw him hugging another guy.

My friend was unarmed, helpless and still has nightmares and various medical side-effects to this day.

I DON'T necessarily want to see any attacker shot or stabbed or killed -- no matter how heinous his hate crime is.

However, people who go after gays with baseball bats and crow bars and two-by-fours and vehicles deserve to experience at least the same amount of agony they inflict on the innocent person(s) they attacked.

If a dangerous, aggressive homophobe gets shot during his unwarranted attack......OH FUCKIN WELL BUDDY.

6. Fucking animals

This is why I'm glad we have the Second Amendment. If I saw shit like this, these fuckers would be bleeding from multiple holes. Cops can't be there all the time, and I keep the gun to protect myself and my fellow citizens from criminals like this.

8. I hope the perpetrators are caught

It would be interesting to find out if they do, indeed, get their ideas from hate radio. At the very least, Limpaugh and his ilk make it seem to be ok to hate.

10. Disgusting pigs element

I grew up in the Village and lived for 10 years in Queens. There has always been a certain cultural "Macho" element in both places.

Going back to my childhood in the 60s, up until I moved away in the 80s, these groups of marauding young punks have always targeted gays, and also young women. Human Dignity is not in their vocabularies.

I am sure the anti gay marriage amendment, and the clergy backing it, has fueled the fire and emboldened them.
