7. My Car Has A Rainbow Flag and An HRC Sticker...

and my truck has a rainbow flag and DU sticker.

There have been a few times when someone in a parking lot will strike up a conversation with me because of my stickers. BUT... a couple of times, I've been shouted down (FAGGOT!!!) on the highway or given the finger (or the exaggerated "jerking-off" pantomime). Lovely, huh?

I'm aggressive enough of a driver -- I don't want any identifying characteristics on my car for when I run one of those Dallas drivers who must cross three lanes of traffic at 70 miles and hour without a signal to take the right exit, off the road. A romulan cloaking device would be helpful too.

Actually, anyone with Gaydar Vision can plainly see whatever they want to see and the rest, who cares.

Both my partner and I have HRC stickers. A rainbow sticker in this small Oklahoma town would be dangerous! They are not bright enough to know the other gay symbols. I took my rainbow sticker off my car the moment I moved to Okla-HELL-ma 5 years ago.

He is about 3 inches high and wears a rainbow sweater, and I have a mini rainbow wind sock hanging in a rear window.

I would like to get something for my car, but the gay area of Melbourne is also one of the darker areas of Melbourne, and I don't like going there on my own.

However, Sapph does have a rainbow sticker on her car. When we did our cross country trip in 2001, part of that journey was a stop off in NYC to visit with her sister for a week. Sapph left the car in a parking garage for that time, and we just caught the subway everywhere. Anyway, after the trip had ended Sapph went to get the car, while I finished packing our stuff, when she came back, she showed me the sticker. Some asshole had tried to pull it off and ended up tearing it in stead.

Then as we were leaving the city, heading for upstate NYC (I wanted to see Judy Garland's grave) this truck passed us and yelled out "faggots" to us. Bloody fools they were.

I would really like an upside down triangle sticker, because to me, it means a community in distress nowadays. And with Bush* stealing another election, we are in distress over there. And with Howard having total control here, we are in distress down under too.

Maybe if I ask Sapph she will bring me one with her at Christmas time.
