They moved my hip replacement surgery up to this Friday. Day after tomorrow. 48 hours. AAAAAAHHHHHH! Scrape me off the ceiling. I've been so cool about this . . . up until now. I've been making lists of all the things I have to get done and I'm down to only 2 items to focus on. Yikes! It's really going to happen. I know the whole thing is fear of the unknown. I've never had anything beyond minor outpatient surgery. I've never spent a night in the hospital. I've never had a catheter, drain or . . . on the plus side . . . been hooked up to drugs on demand. I know next week at this time I'll most likely be back at being obnoxious on the computer, but it seems so far away. I'll be briefly gone from DU, but hopefully not forgotten.:hi:

| 2. Thinking of you, Vinca. Things will go fine and you'll be bouncing |
|
back in no time. After all, it is spring and there are places to go, things to do now that the weather is breaking. So you miss a few sales, there will be others. Better to get this done, heal and be on with things. My fear is breaking a hip. That would be worse.
Once you are at the hospital, it will be over before you know it. We'll be watching for a good post upon your return. PR

| 4. I think some of my picker friends are dancing in the streets. |

They think I might not be beating them to the good stuff at the early sales. Think again. I've got a secret weapon: my husband. He knows almost as much as I do about antiques and collectibles.

And I'm sure you've heard from all sorts of people, but I'll just chime in and say that when my former mother-in-law had her hip replacements done, she turned into a new woman! She was (and still is) SO glad she had it done, and couldn't imagine why she had waited so long.
Only two things left on your "to do" list, though? Do ya want some of mine?
Good luck, I hope everything goes really, really well, and we're looking forward to seeing you back with your brand spankin' new hip! :pals:

He said he totally forgets he has a replaced joint and can do everything but karate. I know I'm not going to miss the chronic pain the bum hip is causing.

I never thought I'd be looking forward to surgery. I'll check back with you next week when it's over.
