| Why do health insurance corporations... |
|
...even need to be involved as our government debates how best to cover our citizens.
Shows you who is really in control...doesn't it?

| 2. The one right wing talking point that drives me batty on this subject. |
|
Is when someone says "Do you really want a bureaucrat in charge of deciding your health care?"
Because big insurance companies are apparently known for their lack of bureaucracy and red tape.

| 5. Well those are jobs that will be lost |
|
I've always thought that if a president was going to kill the health insurance industry, he (or she) has the obligation to try to replace as many of those jobs as possible. Yeah the health insurance industry is evil, but most of the people who work in that industry are just trying to make ends meet like the rest of us. I think Obama wants to preserve that industry to save those jobs, and to save his ass come 2012. But what if he instead decided to start a program to help retrain those people in the health insurance industry to work in the health care services industry? One thing that's always left out of this debate is the number of jobs created by 47 million Americans suddenly making regular visits to the doctor's office.
