My 8th grader would like to go to college to study this, so which offers the best program?

What do you recommend she study/read (Sherlock?) in her remaining school years?

2. study chemistry

chemistry is a really good subject to studying in high school to prepare for forensics work.

i work with forensic scientists all the time, several are chemists, and come from that background.

There are several specialties. For example, the University of Florida offers http://www.forensicscience.ufl.edu">masters degrees in Forensic Toxicology, Drug Chemistry, Forensic DNA & Serology and Forensic Science. The transcripts will read Master of Science in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences with concentration in Forensic Drug Chemistry, Forensic Serology and DNA, or Forensic Science.
(Their vet school offers a Forensics masters as well.)

5. My wife is a Forensic Scientist and teaches it at the local university.

I am studying chemistry and math, administration of justice classes, etc. Only in my first year of college, though. lol
