Our Teese pizza experiment

Our order of Teese arrived yesterday and we made pizza tonight. It was really good. We made our own crust and Isa's sauce from VWaV, then topped it with red onion, black olives, mushrooms and the Teese.

We really liked it. The taste was great, much better than Follow Your Heart, we thought. Plus, it really did melt. We put a ton on the pizza, as you can see. We tasted it beforehand and it really had an authentic fresh mozzarella taste. We'd use it again for sure.

Where do you order this new Teese? Can you get it through a place like Wild Oats or Whole Foods?

I'm trying to limit my intake of cheese in general, but it would be nice to know that something this good is out there to buy once a month or so.

3. We're hoping to have a local source soon.

Sidecar For Pigs Peace, a great vegan store that is owned by Pigs Peace Sanctuary (http://pigspeace.org) will hopefully carry it. The vegan pizza place across the street already is serving it, so - crossing fingers - it should be a matter of time. The paperwork with our order said that this is a work in progress but we felt it was damn good as is. :9

They're a great company to talk with too and I know they want customer comments. Ours will be along the lines of, "OMG, we worship you!!" Or something like that. :D

14. Teese testing results

I received my 1 lb. tube of Teese yesterday, and immediately used it to make dinner.

Cheesy veggie pasta in marinara sauce.
Cheesy crostini with caramelized onion.
Cheesy salad of mixed greens, tomatoes, and nuts.

DAMN it was good stuff. Not perfect--not salty enough for my tastes--but pretty damn close. The meltability was at least 2x better than any vegan cheese I've used before.

Last night we made a Pizza Margherita (thin crust, sauce, fresh basil and slices of Teese). I liked it even more than the first one. I'll post pics later. :9
