Question about DVDs

I know that my Mac can play DVDs.

Are U.S. Macs set to play Region 1 DVDs only, or can they be adjusted to play foreign DVDs as well? If so, would I have to do anything special to make that possible, or will it happen automatically?

2. Yes, and no

In Panther you can switch regions up to five times. After the fifth time the DVD player is locked to whichever region was selected last.
